Torn Down and Rebuilt Better in Trex Lineage
This Richfield deck came all the way down. We rebuilt it with stronger framing, a full waterproofing system for a dry space below, Trex Lineage Biscayne with a 1x border and Lineage Jasper on the fascia, risers, and stringers, Trex Signature Rod Rail with a drink rail, a finished wood ceiling underneath, and lights on every post and step.

An older deck that needed to start over
The old deck had tired composite boards, dated railing, a worn wood ceiling below, and a waterproofing system that was no longer keeping water off the space and the electrical underneath.
Patching it was not going to cut it. We took it all down, the decking, stairs, rails, joists, trim, ceiling, and old waterproofing, and rebuilt the whole thing the right way.

From the ground up
What it is made of
Every product here was picked to look sharp and stay low maintenance for a long time.

Trex Lineage Biscayne
Trex Lineage Biscayne is a rich, warm brown, laid here with a 1x picture frame border and clean butt joints with heat mitigating technology so it stays cooler in the sun.

Jasper Fascia and Wraps
Trex Lineage Jasper, a deeper tone, on the rim joists, stair risers, stringers, posts, and beams so the whole deck looks finished.

Trex Signature Rod Rail
Black Trex Signature Rod Rail with a Biscayne drink rail on top. Clean lines and an open view. Compare railing

Waterproofing and Wood Ceiling
A waterproofing membrane over the joists keeps the space below dry, finished with a Luna Layer ceiling in Arctic. More on under deck protection

Built In Benches
Benches built right into the deck in the same boards, so they always match and never blow over. More deck options

Questions we hear a lot
When does a deck need a full tear down?
When the framing, waterproofing, or layout is past saving. We inspect everything and tell you straight whether a resurface or a full rebuild makes more sense.
What keeps the space under a deck dry?
A waterproofing membrane over the joists catches the water and carries it away, so you can finish the ceiling and run lights and fans below.
Why 12 inch joist spacing?
Tighter joist spacing makes the deck feel more solid underfoot and is ideal for diagonal patterns and premium boards.

Is your deck ready for a fresh start?
We will come out, check the structure, and give you an honest answer on resurfacing versus rebuilding.
