A Bigger Deck Built for the Pond View
We tore out the old deck and built this Medina family a bigger one, about 870 square feet of Deckorators Vista Silverwood with a Driftwood border, white Trex Select railing, and a built in bar ledge right where everyone wants to stand and look at the pond.

Out with the old, built for how they live
The old deck was too small and too tired for the view this yard has. We took out the deck, the stairs, the plantings, two trees, and an old retaining wall to make room for something better.
The new deck runs right up to the back of their masonry grill station, with 8 foot wide stairs down to the yard. We also framed it strong enough for a hot tub and a roof down the road, so they can keep adding on without starting over.

How it came together
What it is made of
Every product here was picked to look sharp and stay low maintenance for a long time.

Deckorators Vista Silverwood
Deckorators Vista Silverwood is a cool, light gray with a natural grain, framed here by a darker Driftwood border.

Built In Bar Ledge
A bar ledge built right on top of the railing, with Silverwood on the outside, Driftwood on the inside, and crisp white trim.

Trex Select Railing
Trex Select white railing with black round aluminum balusters. Clean, classic, and easy to keep up. Compare railing

Lighting
Trex side mounted post lights and stair riser lights on a low voltage transformer. More on lighting

Solid Skirting
Deckorators Vista boards close in the space under the deck, with a double access door for storage.

Privacy Screen
A black Hideaway aluminum screen gives one side of the deck some privacy without blocking the breeze. More on privacy screens

Questions we hear a lot
Can you build a bar ledge on my railing?
Yes. We build bar ledges on top of the railing in decking that matches or contrasts your deck, trimmed out so it looks built in.
Can my deck hold a hot tub later?
If we know ahead of time, we frame for it. We size the footings, beams, and joists to carry the weight so you can add one later.
Do you remove trees and old retaining walls?
Yes. Demo and site prep are part of the job, and we haul everything away.
