Multilevel Composite Deck With Stair and Post Lighting
Wide stairs, multiple levels, and built in lights make this deck as good at night as it is during the day.
The 3D designDesigned in 3D, Lit for Night
This backyard slopes away from the house, so we designed a multilevel composite deck with wide stairs that step down to the yard.
We planned the lighting in the 3D design stage. Stair riser lights and post cap lights make every step visible and give the deck a warm glow after dark.

Deck Lighting We Install
Stair Riser Lights
Small LED lights on each riser make stairs safe and easy to see.
Post Cap Lights
Soft light on top of railing posts outlines the deck.
Accent Lights
Under rail and fascia lights add glow without glare.
Why Build on Multiple Levels

Levels follow the grade instead of fighting it.

Better Stairs
Wide stairs and landings feel safer and look better.
More Interest
Levels add depth and shape to a big deck.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is deck lighting worth it?
Yes. Stair lights improve safety, and lighting lets you use the deck after dark. It is much easier to add during the build.
Are low voltage deck lights expensive to run?
No. LED deck lights use very little power and usually run on a timer or dusk sensor.
Can lighting be added to an existing deck?
Often, yes, though wiring is simpler during construction.
Do multilevel decks cost more?
Extra levels add stairs and framing, so they usually cost more than a single level of the same area.
