Deck Replacement and Redecking in Northeast Ohio
Tired of staining, splinters, and soft spots? We replace worn decks with composite that looks great for decades.
Built by DreamDecksReplace or Redeck?
If your deck frame is solid, we can often remove the old boards and railing and redeck it with composite, saving you money over a full rebuild.
If posts, joists, or footings are rotted or undersized, we tear it out and build new on helical pier foundations so it never shifts again.
Either way, we inspect the structure first and tell you honestly which option makes sense.
Signs Your Deck Needs Replacing
Soft or Spongy Boards
Boards that flex or feel soft usually mean rot below the surface.
Wobbly Railing
Loose posts and railing are a safety risk, especially with kids around.
Rotting Posts or Joists
Dark, crumbling wood at posts and joists means the frame is failing.
Sinking or Leaning
Footings that heave or settle cause the deck to slope or pull away from the house.
Constant Staining
If you stain every year and it still looks worn, composite ends the cycle.
Rusty Hardware
Corroded fasteners and ledger connections weaken the whole deck.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you put composite decking on an existing wood frame?
Often, yes, if the frame is sound and the joists are spaced correctly for composite. We inspect the frame first. Composite usually needs joists at 16 inches on center or closer.
Is redecking cheaper than a new deck?
Usually. Reusing a solid frame can save a meaningful part of the cost of a full rebuild. If the frame needs major repair, a new deck is the better investment.
How long does a deck replacement take?
Most redecks take a few days to a week on site. Full tear out and rebuilds usually take one to three weeks once the permit is approved.
Do I need a permit to replace a deck?
A full rebuild almost always needs a permit. Redecking may or may not, depending on your town. We handle the permit either way.
What happens to my old deck?
We tear it out, haul it away, and clean up the site before building.
